The Starting Line is an innovative competition designed for entrepreneurial ventures without a financial track record – the budding entrepreneur – the purist form of a start-up.

Program Overview

The Starting Line is an innovative competition design for entrepreneurial ventures without a financial track record (under 20k in revenue). This annual event invites individuals to pitch ideas, persuade a team of its merit and have the chance to win one of four cash prizes, valued up to $5,000 each. Initial requirements include a video up to 90 seconds describing the idea. The prizes are broken down into four categories: women, veterans, minorities, and judge’s choice. There is an opportunity to receive up to an additional $10,000 (total) in grant funding through Ben Franklin Technology Partners.
